Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish Announces Executive Director

TERRYTOWN- Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish is pleased to announce the hiring of Keisha Rogers as the charter school's executive director. Rogers was previously serving as the school’s interim executive director.

"I'm excited to lead Athlos Academy, because there is so much potential for both the students and staff alike. I connect with Athlos, because it centers on the growth of the whole child through the Three Pillars of Performance," Rogers said. "Moving forward as a team of stakeholders, I am eager to continue to bring the vision of Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish to fruition. I will work hard to entrench Athlos as one of the premiere charter schools in the New Orleans area."

Rogers is a Westbank resident and served as an instructional coach at the school before assuming the interim executive director role.  Rogers earned her bachelor’s degree in education at Xavier University of Louisiana. She taught elementary and middle school students in a variety of schools for 10 years before earning her master’s degree in educational leadership in 2014. Prior to joining the team at Athlos, Rogers worked as an academic dean and assistant principal for the Jefferson Parish Public School System.

Rogers and her husband have three daughters. She enjoys volunteering as a girl scout troop leader and trying new cuisine at restaurants with her family.
