Coach Justin Taylor

ATHLETIC PERFORMANCE COACH

About Coach Taylor

Justin Taylor graduated from The Ohio State University located in Columbus, Ohio. While earning his Bachelor of Education degree in the Physical Activity Specialist program he specialized in coaching. His studies included Adapted P.E. and Sports in Society. Before joining Team Athlos, he helped to manage the only youth flag football company that plays in professional stadiums in the country.

He has coached over eighteen sports seasons including football, baseball, soccer, lacrosse and many more. His favorite sports to coach are basketball and ultimate frisbee. Every summer Justin goes back to his alma mater to help run LIFEsports, a month-long sports program designed to teach and expose underprivileged inner-city youth to new sports.

Favorite Performance Character Trait: Grit

“Although I love all of the Performance Character traits, the one most impactful to me is grit,” Justin said. “Life is all about challenges and when you try to overcome them fail or succeed you will be better because of it. I tell my players and students when I coach, ‘You must learn from failure. If you can’t identify why you failed you are doomed to get the same result. Never quit, if you tried your best then you won. You only lose when you quit.’ He added that he thinks about Michael Jordan’s quote when he teaches, “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something, But I can’t accept not trying.”
