Ms. Kanishia Carey

About Ms. Carey
Kanishia Carey graduated from Mississippi State University and Hinds Community College. She was a member of both school’s collegiate track and field teams, where she served as the captain. In addition, Kanishia is a member of the Ladies Social Circle and volunteers at the Oktibeha County Humane Society. This year will be her second year teaching. Before she transitioned into education, Kanishia worked for six years in law enforcement and investigations. Kanishia believes her best quality as a teacher is adaptability. “Giving up will not be an option,” she said.
Favorite Performance Character Trait: Grit
Kanishia’s favorite Performance Character trait is grit. She said, “Grit will be the driver of my achievements and success as a teacher.”
Fun Facts about Ms. Carey
- Kanisha loves to sing and dance. (“I can not sing!” she added.)
- She enjoys playing football with her son.
- When she finds time, she works out.
- She loves peanut M&Ms!
