Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by Hurricane Ida.  The safety of our staff and families is our first priority.  We are in the process of assessing our building and the surrounding area. There are many factors involved in the decision to reopen school or resume school online, including power, water, transportation, staffing, student needs and the condition of the building.

Please complete the survey that was sent via text and email.

One important first step in reopening school or resuming school online is to find out how you are doing.  Please take a few minutes to complete the survey so that we can determine where our families are and what needs our families currently have.  We will send updates on the status of school as we gather information that will inform our decisions.  Please check the website, social media, email, and text for further information.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support.  Together, we will get through this as a TEAM using our Athlos Grit and Optimism.

Dear Athlos Staff and Families,

Following the decision of Jefferson Parish Public Schools, we will close school for Monday, August 30 due to the anticipated impact of Tropical Storm Ida. The storm is forecast to be a major hurricane by the time it makes landfall. We hope that this allows your full attention to be on your family as the storm approaches.

Packets are available at the school until 2:30 p.m. today for those who are in quarantine or the packets will be posted on Clever if families cannot get to the school today.  For those who are at school, packets will be sent home with students.

We will continue to closely monitor the situation alongside local and state weather authorities. We will decide about school operations for Tuesday, August 31 as soon as possible. Communication will be sent via text, phone, email, website and social media.

At Athlos, we care deeply about the health, welfare and safety of our staff and students.  Anyone in need of assistance should reach out and let us know if they need help.  Please use caution and stay safe during this time.

Sincerely,

Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish
