Yesterday we sent communication regarding the on-campus assessments that will begin next week after Fall Break. Thank you to the parents who reached out with questions and feedback following this communication.
This gives us an opportunity to provide more information in three areas: building repairs, assessments, and teacher instruction/student learning.
Building Repairs:
The main building sustained roof damage in several areas. Our portable building, which has eight classrooms, did not have any damage. This is where assessments will take place. Roof repairs began earlier this week, and we anticipate returning to the building soon. However, as you know, with any repairs there may be unexpected setbacks which is why we have delayed making an announcement, especially after our previous projected date for reopening did not occur.
Assessments:
Assessments are diagnostic testing that students will usually complete within the first two-three weeks of school to determine what students have retained from the previous school year. We use the information to provide interventions and additional support if needed.
Teacher Instruction and Student Learning:

We understand and share the frustration regarding returning to school on-campus in-person full time. Our teachers and staff are anxious to return to in-person instruction. We have every intention of implementing our plans to make the 21-22 school year the most impactful yet.
