Melinda Hill

Ms. Melinda G. Hill has been teaching for seventeen years. She is a proud product of the Jefferson Parish School System. Ms. Hill graduated from L. W. Higgins High School class of ’83. She later received a Bachelor of Science degree from the Southern University of New Orleans in Math Education. While attending SUNO, she says she changed her major to education because she kept finding herself “teaching” all the time. That is why she says that “teaching is her calling.” Ms. Hill says that she genuinely loves her students and wants them to achieve success. One of her best qualities as a teacher is her classroom management. She feels that things will run most smoothly when there are structures and routines for students daily. Additionally, she knows that developing a good rapport with students and parents is essential as well.

Ms. Hill is the proud mother of two awesome adult children. Her oldest Reginald Jr. and a beautiful daughter Anjanique who is expecting her very first child (Ms. Hill’s first grandchild)! She is excited about welcoming Arden’Li into their family around Christmas time in 2021. Ms. Hill is from a family of ten, so focus on family is significant for her. In addition to spending time with family, she loves to read, bake, and do event/party planning. Ms. Hill’s goal is to make learning fun and exciting for ALL students.
