Along with the soccer option for our 4th-grade through 8th-grade student athletes, we are extremely excited to announce the return of Tiny Triton Sports (K-3) with a singular focus on foundational soccer skills.
Playing soccer helps kids build valuable life skills, such as hard work, decision-making, problem-solving, and communication. Healthy competition also teaches the importance of teamwork and cooperation, balanced by good sportsmanship. Here are some other ways that soccer promotes positive youth development.
-
Soccer helps kids stay fit and healthy: It is not just a lot of running–the combination of balance, strength, and stamina that is required to play is remarkable. Cardiovascular health increases in coordination and balance, improvement in strength, and flexibility are all basic benefits of playing soccer.
-
Soccer builds self-confidence and self-esteem: Playing soccer helps kids gain confidence in their abilities. They become more comfortable with the activity as they develop skills and make friends. As they become more comfortable, they train more and get better.
-
Soccer requires responsibility: Being a soccer player requires responsibility for your team, coach, and yourself. Every player counts on the other players on the team. That means attending all the training sessions and games.
Open to all grade levels and genders.
