Kyla Catchings

Kyla Catchings attended Southern University and A&M College and Louisiana State University of Shreveport, where she studied Sociology. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Her career in education began at a Head Start program, and she later joined Athlos as a first-year teacher. Now in her fifth year, Kyla continues to grow in her role and impact students’ lives each day. Her top goal as an educator is to make positive impacts in students’ lives by showing the importance of both knowledge and values.

Kyla’s greatest strength as an educator is her ability to understand students at their level, making learning both engaging and enjoyable. Each year, she looks forward to collaborating with a supportive and dedicated team to help students achieve their full potential. She was drawn to Athlos because of its powerful vision statement and the commitment to nurturing not only academic success but also strong character and personal growth.
