About Ms. Fuentes

Mirian Fuentes, affectionately known as Mimi, is a dedicated educator with a Master’s Degree in Bilingual Intercultural Education from U.F.T. and U.P.E.L. in Venezuela. She brings over seven years of experience teaching Spanish at the International School of Louisiana, where she created engaging and culturally rich lessons for students from diverse backgrounds.

Her top goal as an educator is to inspire a lifelong love of learning by designing meaningful, student-centered experiences that foster academic growth, cultural awareness, and critical thinking. One of her greatest strengths is her ability to connect with students on a personal level—building trust, motivation, and adapting her teaching strategies to meet each learner’s unique needs.

Each year, she looks forward to being part of a dynamic, collaborative team that values character development, academic excellence, and active learning. She is passionate about contributing her expertise in language education to support student success.

Mirian was drawn to Athlos Academy because of its holistic model, which integrates academic excellence with character development and healthy living. She believes this well-rounded approach empowers students not just to succeed in school, but to thrive in life as resilient, well-prepared individuals.
