Alethea Simms

4TH GRADE TEACHER

About Ms. Simms

Alethea Simms is ecstatic to be a Grade 4 teacher at Athlos Academy of Jefferson Parish. This year is her fourth year of teaching, and science is her favorite subject. She is a graduate of William Carey University, where she majored in psychology with a minor in biology. Before working for Athos, she did Community Counseling, and worked for Early Steps.

Through the combination of Aletheas educational background and diverse experiences, she has constructed a sturdy base to fulfill her potential as an outstanding educator; her greatest strength lies in teaching Math and Science. Her learning foundation is inspired by Nelson Mandela. Mr. Mandela explained that “education is the most powerful weapon, which you can use to change the world.”

The children are what make teaching so fulfilling for her, motivating her to be the finest version of herself and ensuring that she can deliver the utmost quality education.

Favorite Performance Character Trait:

CURIOSITY

“The Performance Character trait that hits home for me is curiosity, I am always curious about new things.” Simms strongly agrees with thinking outside of the box and solving problems with innovation.
