Ms. DeMeredith Griffin

About Ms. Griffin

DeMeredith Griffin received her associate’s degree in early childhood education from Delgado Community College and her bachelor’s degree in psychology from University of Phoenix. Prior to working at Athlos Academy, Griffin provided reading and math intervention for grades K-8 for eight years as a Title l teacher and has been teaching kindergarten for three years.

“Kindergarten is so important for children, because it provides the foundation for learning and enhancing social skills,” she said. “If children succeed in kindergarten, the foundation is set for them to succeed as they progress in further education.”

Griffin says her best quality as a teacher is compassion. “I make my students feel that they are in a safe space and what they have to say matters,” she said. “I also am dedicated to seeing students succeed.”

Favorite Performance Character Trait: Integrity

“The Performance Character trait that resonates with me most is integrity, because as teachers we must have integrity and strive to do the right thing all the time. Our students are watching us, and we must lead by example. If we are doing the right thing then our students will as well.”
