Message from Executive Director Cheryl Martin

Welcome Back!  It’s hard to believe we are closing out the first month of school. The past three weeks have been full of excitement. Thank you for allowing us to partner with you in educating your scholar(s).  I am excited to share just a few of the initiatives we have planned to make this year the best one yet.  The list below is a brief description of how the initiatives are aligned to each of our three foundational pillars.

  1. Prepared Mind: We have adjusted our Master Schedule to increase the number of instructional minutes for core content. An intervention block has been embedded into every grade level which allows students to receive individualized on level remediation.
  2. Healthy Body: We have adjusted our enrichment schedule to allow each student to receive Athletic Movement and an enrichment course each day of the week. Students will receive art, music, graphic design, and Spanish by the end of the year.
  3. Performance Character: We are now exposing students to a new character trait each week. This will allow us to cycle through all 12 traits and revisit each one throughout the school year. We are also recognizing students who make good choices with more frequent opportunities to use their Triton Bucks with unannounced “pop-up” shops.

The entire staff is excited about our plans, but we cannot do it alone. We need you to partner with us to accomplish each of these goals. You can start by reaching out to your scholar’s teacher to learn more about what they are learning this year.

I hope to share more at our upcoming Coffee & Chat which will also serve as our Open House.  Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 15.  We will begin promptly at 4:30 and close out at 6:00 p.m.

Looking forward to seeing you soon.

Mrs. Martin, Executive Director
