About Mr. Spano

Anthony J. Spano has been a history teacher since 1989. He earned his Bachelor of Liberal Arts in History from Loyola University and has been teaching ever since. In 1991, Mr. Spano received his master’s of history teaching from the University of New Orleans.

Over the years, Mr. Spano has coached and moderated numerous clubs and teams. Flag football, quiz bowl, and robotics have been his favorites.

Mr. Spano believes his best quality is “joie de vivre” and bringing wonder, awe, and a commitment to excellence to the classroom.

Favorite Performance Character Trait: Curiosity

Mr. Spano loves to learn, so he naturally says, “Curiosity with its wonder and passion in the learning experience is the perfect Performance Character trait.”

• He has been to 122 National Parks and Historic Sites!
• He has seen the graves of thirty-five U.S. Presidents and many other famous Americans.
• His team has won over 1,000 games and twenty-five City Championships in Athletics. His quiz bowl team has won dozens of academic State Championships and three National Championships.
